Bush intended to shield Public Relations from Day One

Media Matters for America directs us all to the September 12 Chris Matthews show on MSNBC in which NYT columnist David Brooks admits since the early days,

“the Bush administration adopted a policy of shielding itself from political damage by never publicly admitting any mistake — even if it meant lying to the media and the American public.”
