The Revolute — A Fuel Cell Concept Car

This could be the greatest usage of the online handle I adopted many years ago — revolute. From Trendhunter:

Will somebody please build one of these neat little cars? How much fun would it be to buzz around the neighborhood or bog in the REVOLUTE? The really cool part? It has a clicker that reconfigures the wheelbase depending on how macho you feel. IM’s can be flashed on the side of the “car” too. Harsha Vardhan made the vehicle out of high tech materials, lexan, carbon fiber, etc. The doors roll out and it also work as a display screen. Inside are swivel seats. Pretty cool. Al Gore build this car!

  • Wow, I never quite got 40mpg off either of my Civics, but then again there was plenty of city driving involved. Yeah -- this car looks borderline ridiculous but hey -- surely there's a way to attach wings and make it fly?

Damn shame about GM -- stock below $10 for first time since 1954! -- and I was totally digging the profile of the Volt project from last month's Atlantic.

  • yeah that would be fun! I'm looking for a new car, I have a 200 Civic that is getting beat up but the problem is that it gets _too_ good mileage. Almost 40 MPG with a roof rack on it. I have a 100 mile roundtrip commute to work so as soon as I see something that is compelling enough, that makes enough sense in both short term and long term expenses, I would go for it. I don't think I'm the only one in this boat.
