The AP made the grave mistake last night of putting words in the mouth of the never-say-die Clinton campaign. She’ll acknowledge his undeniable clinching of the delegate total, but that is not the same as conceding the race. Not even suspending her vacuous money pit of a campaign as Mitt Romney did. Even Clinton’s campaign staffers are mincing their words. There is no question that this campaign season, extended to the final day of primaries (the 1 million or so registered voters in South Dakota and Montana) on Clinton’s insistence that SHE is the chosen one, will end only on her terms and nobody else’s. But will it end? And when? And how?
According to The AP delegate count, the race is already over. Victory Obama. A sweeping wave of superdelegate endorsements have finally tipped the scales and even more will announce tonight. In essence, the number 32 at right is all but irrelevant. Eleven state governors initially supported Clinton and now, as the good ol AP writes, will they flip the switch just like that?
Another great YouTube mashup to entertain as we look forward to another O-Day, in which Barack Obama will move closer to securing the democratic nomination (although Hillary Clinton will likely stay in the race for the next two weeks, regardless):
Amazing when even a CNN.com poll puts Clinton in the Bush zone of turning off 2/3 of the public. And CNN was her biggest fan too, right Wolf? It’s beginning to look like she’s the next hater of the “Democrat” party, perhaps she’ll stick around and smear the will of the voters and the choice of the party and then link up with Lieberman for a surprise INdepedopublican ticket? Perhaps that’s easier to believe than what the Daily news seemed to infer this morning by claiming Clinton is staying in to represent the middle class white folks and help perpetuate the right wing myths regarding Obama being a Muslim, etc.
I’m gonna be sick. And so is George McGovern — one of HRC’s earliest backers, now wants to send her far, far away.
Love this site thought: Hillaryis404.org: This candidacy can not be found. Brilliant!
ABC News, the National Constitution Center and WPVI-TV will host a Democratic Presidential Candidate debate in Philadelphia on Wednesday, April 16th. The live 90-minute debate, moderated by ABC News anchors Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos, will air from 8-10 PM ET/PT on the ABC Television Network. — U.S. State Dept. Web site
This is such an ignorant, irresponsible, and backwards move on behalf of ABC, it’s beyond belief.
This would be a perfect opportunity for Disney-owned ABC News Networks to promote their streaming video services. I am crossing my fingers that the debate WILL be live-streaming via local Philadelphia affiliate WPVI. As it stands right now, WPVI has a “breaking alert” that they will live-stream President Bush talking about Climate Change in about 30 minutes.
Don’t even get me started about how ridiculous this concept is: Bush addressing climate change with THE POPE at his side? Hilarious!
